How to Accept or Reject Admission Offer on JAMB CAPS

This article is meant to help you understand how to Accept or Reject Admission Offer on JAMB CAPS platform, which automates the admissions process to higher education institutions, and allows you to accept or reject admission offers.

This is consistent with the news that the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has successfully established the Central Admission Processing System (CAPS) portal, allowing UTME and Direct Entry candidates to accept or reject their admission offer and check the progress of their admission.

Details About JAMB CAPS

The Central Admission Processing System (CAPS) platform was developed by the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) to automate the admissions process into Nigeria’s higher institutions.

Additionally, it makes sure the admissions process is transparent, credible, and subject to quality control.

In the JAMB portal, the Central Admission Processing System (CAPS) is anticipated to include a “market area” where universities can go and “request for students in Nigeria who score their cut-off points.”

Institutions can only accept students who meet their cutoff points under the current system. Regardless of the application’s relationship, admission will undoubtedly be refused if the individual does not meet the cutoff mark.

Not only does CAPS automate the procedure, but it also introduces some other advancements. And among them are:

  • options for applicants to confirm provisional admissions, removing the possibility of applicants withdrawing from admissions;
  • market place that enables organizations to find individuals from the pool of applicants depending on a variety of factors, including JAMB scores, candidates’ states of residence, local governments, and even gender.
  • JAMB’s requirement that all candidates with pending O/L results upload such results before being considered for admission
  • candidates can check their admission status at any time on the JAMB portal, and admissions can be completed instantly or in batches.

The list of applicants accepted into their various programs may not be posted on every institution’s website or notice board. Therefore, applicants are urged to regularly check JAMB CAPS to monitor their admission status.

NOTE: Once you accept the acceptance, your search for admission is over because you are no longer eligible for consideration by other schools. If you decline the admission, however, you open yourself up to consideration for admission by other schools with open spots.
